The archaeological record continues to shrink due to construction and land development. As populations and the infrastructure to support them grow the greater the threat to our limited archaeological resources. With the destruction of a site is the loss of the knowledge it contains. We ask that you help us preserve these valuable resources. We suggest that you:

  • Treat all archaeological sites and artifacts as a finite resource.

  • Leave artifacts undisturbed in their original location.

  • Never collect artifacts for personal purposes.

  • Report archaeological discoveries to only qualified archaeologists or institutions.

  • Avoid disturbing any archaeological site and respect the sanctity of burial sites.
