37 Now when they heard this, they were
pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what
shall we do?" 38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of
you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 "For the promise
is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will
call to Himself." 40 And with many other words he
solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse
generation!" 41 So then, those who had received his word
were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. 42 They were continually devoting
themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to
prayer.

12 But when they believed Philip
preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were

Acts 9 (NASB)
1 NOW
Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the
high priest, 2 and asked for letters from him to the
synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women,
he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
13 But Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from
many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem; 14 and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who
call on Your name." 15 But the Lord said to him, "Go, for
he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the
sons of Israel; 16 for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name's sake."
17 So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after
laying his hands on him said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on
the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be
filled with the Holy Spirit." 18 And immediately
there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up
and was baptized; 19 and he took food and was strengthened.
Now for several days he was with the disciples who were at Damascus, 20 and immediately he began to proclaim
Jesus in the synagogues, saying, "He is the Son of God." 21 All those hearing him continued to be amazed, and were saying,
Is this not he who in Jerusalem destroyed those who called on this name, and who had
come here for the purpose of bringing them bound before the chief priests?" 22 But
Saul kept increasing in strength and confounding the Jews who lived at Damascus by proving
that this Jesus is the Christ.
23 When many days had elapsed, the Jews
plotted together to do away with him, 24 but their plot
became known to Saul. They were also watching the gates day and night so that they might
put him to death; 25 but his disciples
took him by night and let him down through an opening in the wall, lowering him in a large
basket.

Acts 10 (NASB)
1 Now there was a man at Caesarea named
Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian cohort, 2 a
devout man and one who feared God with all his household, and gave many alms to the Jewish
people and prayed to God continually. 3 About the ninth hour
of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had just come in and said to
him, "Cornelius!" 4 And fixing his gaze on him and
being much alarmed, he said, "What is it, Lord?" And he said to him, "Your
prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God. 5
"Now dispatch some men to Joppa and send for a man named Simon, who is also called
Peter; 6 he is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house
is by the sea." 7 When the angel who was speaking to him
had left, he summoned two of his servants and a devout soldier of those who were his
personal attendants, 8 and after he had explained everything
to them, he sent them to Joppa.
9 On the next day, as they were on their
way and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. 10 But he became hungry and was desiring to eat; but while they
were making preparations, he fell into a trance; 11 and he
saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four
corners to the ground, 12 and there were in it all kinds of
four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the air. 13 A voice
came to him, "Get up, Peter, kill and eat!" 14 But
Peter said, "By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and
unclean." 15 Again a voice came to him a second time,
"What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy." 16
This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.
17 Now while Peter was greatly perplexed
in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might be, behold, the men who had been
sent by Cornelius, having asked directions for Simon's house, appeared at the gate; 18 and calling out, they were asking whether Simon, who was also
called Peter, was staying there. 19 While Peter was
reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men are looking for
you. 20 "But get up, go downstairs and accompany them
without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself." 21
Peter went down to the men and said, "Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what
is the reason for which you have come?" 22 They said,
"Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire
nation of the Jews, was divinely directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his
house and hear a message from you." 23 So he invited
them in and gave them lodging.
24 On the following day he entered
Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and
close friends. 25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and
fell at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter raised him
up, saying, "Stand up; I too am just a man." 27 As
he talked with him, he entered and found many people assembled. 28
And he said to them, "You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a man who is a Jew
to associate with a foreigner or to visit him; and yet God has shown me that I should not
call any man unholy or unclean. 29 "That is why I came
without even raising any objection when I was sent for. So I ask for what reason you have
sent for me." 30 Cornelius said, "Four days ago to
this hour, I was praying in my house during the ninth hour; and behold, a man stood before
me in shining garments, 31 and he said, "Cornelius, your
prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God. 32
'Therefore send to Joppa and invite Simon, who is also called Peter, to come to you; he is
staying at the house of Simon the tanner by the sea.' 33
"So I sent for you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. Now then, we
are all here present before God to hear all that you have been commanded by the
Lord." 34 Opening his mouth, Peter said: "I most
certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, 35
but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him. 36 "The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching
peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all) 37 you
yourselves know the thing which took place throughout all Judea, starting from Galilee,
after the baptism which John proclaimed. 38 "You know of
Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He
went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with
Him. 39 "We are witnesses of all the things He did both
in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a
cross. 40 "God raised Him up on the third day and
granted that He become visible, 41 not to all the people, but
to witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him
after He arose from the dead. 42 "And He ordered us to
preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed
by God as Judge of the living and the dead. 43 "Of Him
all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives
forgiveness of sins."
44 While Peter was still speaking these
words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. 45 All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed,
because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting
God. Then Peter answered, 47 "Surely no one can refuse
the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can
he?" 48 And he ordered them to be baptized in the name
of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.
Acts 11 (NASB)
1 Now the apostles and the brethren who
were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 2 And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those who were circumcised
took issue with him, 3 saying, "You went to
uncircumcised men and ate with them." 4 But Peter began
speaking and proceeded to explain to them in orderly sequence, saying, 5 "I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a
vision, an object coming down like a great sheet lowered by four corners from the sky; and
it came right down to me, 6 and when I had fixed my gaze on
it and was observing it I saw the four-footed animals of the earth and the wild beasts and
the crawling creatures and the birds of the air. 7 "I
also heard a voice saying to me, 'Get up, Peter; kill and eat.' 8 "But
I said, 'By no means, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered my mouth.'
9 "But a voice from heaven answered a
second time, 'What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.' 10 "This
happened three times, and everything was drawn back up into the sky. 11
"And behold, at that moment three men appeared at the house in which we were
staying, having been sent to me from Caesarea. 12 "The
Spirit told me to go with them without misgivings. These six brethren also went with me
and we entered the man's house. 13 "And he reported to
us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying, "Send to Joppa and
have Simon, who is also called Peter, brought here; 14 and he
will speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.' 15 "And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them
just as He did upon us at the beginning. 16 "And I
remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you
will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'
17 "Therefore if God gave to them the
same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I
could stand in God's way?" 18 When they heard this, they
quieted down and glorified God, saying, "Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles
also the repentance that leads to life." 19

Acts 12 (NASB)

5 So Peter was kept in the prison, but
prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God.
12 And when he realized this, he
went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who was also called Mark, where many were
gathered together and were praying.
14 When she recognized Peter's
voice, because of her joy she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter
was standing in front of the gate.
Acts 13 (NASB)
1 Now there were
at Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who
was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the
tetrarch, and Saul. 2 While they were ministering to the Lord
and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work
to which I have called them." 3 Then, when they had
fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

14 But going on from Perga, they
arrived at Pisidian Antioch, and on the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat
down.

4 When they arrived at Jerusalem,
they were received by the church and the apostles and the elders, and they reported all
that God had done with them. 5 But
some of the sect of the Pharisees who had believed stood up, saying, "It is necessary
to circumcise them and to direct them to observe the Law of Moses."
6 The apostles and the elders came
together to look into this matter. 7 After there had been
much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, "Brethren, you know that in the early
days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the
gospel and believe. 8 "And God, who knows the heart,
testified to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us; 9 and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their
hearts by faith. 10 "Now therefore why do you put God to
the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we
have been able to bear? 11 "But we believe that we are
saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are."
12 All the people kept silent, and they
were listening to Barnabas and Paul as they were relating what signs and wonders God had
done through them among the Gentiles. 13 After they had
stopped speaking, James answered, saying, "Brethren, listen to me. 14 "Simeon has related how God first concerned Himself about
taking from among the Gentiles a people for His name. 15 "With
this the words of the Prophets agree, just as it is written,
16 "AFTER THESE THINGS I will return, AND I WILL
REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID WHICH HAS FALLEN, AND I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS, AND I WILL
RESTORE IT, 17 SO THAT THE REST OF MANKIND MAY SEEK THE LORD,
AND ALL THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME,' 18 SAYS THE
LORD, WHO MAKES THESE THINGS KNOWN FROM LONG AGO.
19 "Therefore it is my judgment that we do not
trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, 20 but
that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from
fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. 21 "For
Moses from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in
the synagogues every Sabbath."

1 Some R808
men came down from Judea and {began} teaching the R809
brethren, "Unless you are circumcised R810
according to the R811
custom of Moses, you cannot be saved." 2 And
when Paul and Barnabas had great F347
dissension and debate R812
with them, {the R813
brethren} determined that Paul and Barnabas and some others of them
should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles R814
and elders concerning this issue. 3 Therefore, being
sent R815 on their
way by the church, they were passing through both Phoenicia R816
and Samaria, describing R817
in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and were bringing great joy to
all the R818
brethren. 4 When they arrived at Jerusalem, they were
received by the church and the R819
apostles and the elders, and they reported R820
all that God had done with them. 5 But some of the R821
sect of the Pharisees R822
who had believed stood up, saying, "It is necessary to circumcise R823
them and to direct them to observe the Law of Moses."
6 The R824
apostles and the elders came together to look F348
into this matter. F349
7 After there had been much debate, R825
Peter stood up and said to them, "Brethren, you know that in F350
the early days God R826
made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the
word of the R827
gospel and believe. 8 "And God, who R828
knows the heart, testified to them giving R829
them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us; 9 and
He R830 made no
distinction between us and them, cleansing R831
their hearts by faith. 10 "Now therefore why do
you put R832 God to
the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither R833
our fathers nor we have been able to bear? 11 "But
we believe that we are saved through the R834
grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are." 12 All
the people kept silent, and they were listening to Barnabas and Paul as
they were relating R835
what signs R836 and
wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles. 13 After
they had stopped speaking, James F351
R837 answered,
saying, "Brethren, listen to me. 14 "
Simeon has related how God first concerned Himself about taking from
among the Gentiles a people for His name. 15 "With
this the words of the R838
Prophets agree, just as it is written, 16 '
AFTER THESE THINGS I R839
will return, AND I WILL REBUILD THE TABERNACLE F352
OF DAVID WHICH HAS FALLEN, AND I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS, AND I WILL
RESTORE IT, 17 SO R840
THAT THE REST OF MANKIND F353
MAY SEEK THE LORD, AND ALL THE GENTILES WHO F354
R841 ARE CALLED BY
MY NAME,' 18 SAYS R842
THE LORD, WHO MAKES F355
R843 THESE THINGS
KNOWN FROM LONG AGO. 19 "Therefore it is my R844
judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among
the Gentiles, 20 but that we write to them that they
abstain from things F356
R845 contaminated
by idols and from fornication R846
and from what R847
is strangled and from blood. 21 "For Moses R848
from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since
he F357 is read in
the synagogues every Sabbath."
22 Then it seemed good to the R849
apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among
them to send to Antioch R850
with Paul and Barnabas--Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, R851
leading men among the R852
brethren, 23 and they sent F358
this letter by them,
"
The apostles and the brethren who are elders, to the R853
brethren in Antioch R854
and Syria R855 and
Cilicia R856 who
are from the Gentiles, greetings. R857
we have heard that some R858
of F359 our number
to whom we gave no instruction have disturbed R859
you with {their} words, unsettling your souls, seemed good to us,
having become F360
of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and
Paul, who have risked F361
R860 their lives
for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. we have sent Judas R861
and Silas, R862 who
themselves will also report the same things by word {of mouth.} it
R863 seemed good to
the R864 Holy
Spirit and to us R865
to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: you
abstain from things R866
sacrificed to idols and from blood R867
and from things R868
strangled and from fornication; R869
if F362 you keep
yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell." 30 So
when they were sent away, they R870
went down to Antioch; and having gathered the congregation F363
together, they delivered the letter. 31 When they had
read it, they rejoiced because of its encouragement. F364
32 Judas R871
and Silas, R872
also being prophets R873
themselves, encouraged F365
and strengthened the R874
brethren with a lengthy message. 33 After they had
spent time {there,} they were sent away from the brethren in R875
peace to those who had sent R876
them out. 34 [
But it seemed good to Silas to remain there.] 35 But
Paul R877 and
Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and preaching R878
with many others also, the R879
word of the Lord.
36 After some days Paul said to Barnabas,
"Let us return and visit the brethren in every R880
city in which we proclaimed the R881
word of the Lord, {and see} how they are." 37 Barnabas
wanted to take John, R882
called Mark, along with them also. 38 But Paul kept
insisting that they should not take him along who had deserted R883
them in F366
Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work. 39 And
there occurred such a sharp disagreement that they separated from one
another, and Barnabas took Mark R884
with him and sailed away to Cyprus. R885
40 But Paul chose Silas R886
and left, being committed R887
by the brethren to the grace of the Lord. 41 And he
was traveling through Syria R888
and Cilicia, R889
strengthening the churches.

Acts 18 (NASB)
1
12 But while Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one
accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat, 13 saying, "This man persuades men to worship God contrary to
the law." 14 But when Paul was about to open his mouth,
Gallio said to the Jews, "If it were a matter of wrong or of vicious crime, O Jews,
it would be reasonable for me to put up with you; 15 but if
there are questions about words and names and your own law, look after it yourselves; I am
unwilling to be a judge of these matters." 16 And he
drove them away from the judgment seat. 17 And they all took
hold of Sosthenes, the leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of the
judgment seat. But Gallio was not concerned about any of these things.

Acts 22 (NASB)
4 "I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and
putting both men and women into prisons, 5 as also the high
priest and all the Council of the elders can testify. From them I also received letters to
the brethren, and started off for Damascus in order to bring even those who were there to
Jerusalem as prisoners to be punished.
Acts 23 (NASB)

9 And there occurred a great uproar; and some of the scribes
of the Pharisaic party stood up and began to argue heatedly, saying, "We find nothing
wrong with this man; suppose a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?"

Acts 26 (NASB)
4 "So then, all Jews know my manner of life from my
youth up, which from the beginning was spent among my own nation and at Jerusalem; 5 since they have known about me for a
long time, if they are willing to testify, that I lived as a Pharisee according to the
strictest sect of our religion.
10 "And this is just what I
did in Jerusalem; not only did I lock up many of the saints in prisons, having received
authority from the chief priests, but also when they were being put to death I cast my
vote against them.

Acts 28 (NASB)
23 When they
had set a day for Paul, they came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was
explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade
them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning
until evening.
